Clean up that bad attitude

Our attitude is the lens that we see life through. When we have a bad attitude, we see the negative side of things, the lack, the deficits. We expect negative things to happen. It’s like looking at life through dirty glasses, everything is dirty and smudged. Not to mention people around you see your bad attitude, I mean dirty glasses.

Clean those glasses. When you look at life through clean glasses, things are brighter. You see the good things that are happening. I’m not talking about “rose colored glasses” but just clean. Clean glasses see the positive possibilities.

So how do you clean your glasses and change that attitude. Sometimes it’s not easy but it can be done. Hear are 4 ways to fix a bad attitude.

1. JUST STOP HAVING A BAD ATTITUDE. Sometimes we act like we don’t have control over our emotions. But we do. Sometime you just have to say to yourself “GET OVER IT, MOVE ON”. Whatever caused the bad attitude should not continue to control you and your life. Don’t let it.

2. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. Sometimes when we have a bad attitude we feel like our life is bad. Or at least not good. But don’t believe it. Count your blessings. The fact that you are reading this says that you are blessed with access to resources to encourage you. You have sight and the ability to read. I’m sure you have much more to be grateful for but start simple and go from there.

3. EXERCISE AND EAT RIGHT. Sometimes a bad attitude means we aren’t treating our bodies right. Our body is trying to get our attention by impacting our moods. Exercise is a great way to get those endorphins flowing which helps put us in a positive mood. Eating right also provides good nutrients for us to feel good. Of course, a special treat of chocolate or ice cream always puts a smile on my face.

4. PAMPER YOURSELF. Sometimes a bad attitude is a reflection of being empty. We have given so much of ourselves and we just need to a fill-up. Take time to pamper yourself. Do something fun, laugh, act silly. Take a moment to not worry or over-think (I’m guilty of that) and just enjoy life.

Just like you wouldn’t walk around wearing dirty glasses, don’t walk around with a bad attitude. Clean you glasses, clean up your attitude.
