Daydreaming is a Good Thing

Daydreaming Required.

I remember growing up and people constantly telling me to stop daydreaming as if I was wasting my time. Truth is I was probably ahead of my time. They were wrong. Actually a little daydreaming is a good thing. It’s a wonderful form of Visioning.

One of the popular social trends today is creating Vision Boards. Where you cutover pictures of what you want in your life or your goals and put it on a board for you to look at regularly. The thought being that if you keep your goals in front of you, you are more likely to achieve them. Well daydreaming has a similar effect.

If you daydream about your goals, you are envisioning what it would be like to live them. You experience with in your mind with all the associated feeling.

I have a goal to have a podcast studio in my home. Somewhere I can create podcasts and interview people. One day I started daydreaming about it. I could see the microphone suspended in front of me, with a computer monitors displaying as I recorded. I could see me sitting with my guest asking questions. Well that daydream became a vision board in my mind. Now I carry it around with me all the time. When I have a free moment, I start researching microphones with a goal to find the one I say in my daydream.

Not only did the daydream give me a vision but it gave me some wonderful positive feeling about my goals. I was so excited and every time I think of the vision I get that same exciting feeling.

So take a moment and do some daydreaming about your goals. Envision what it looks likes, and feels like. It may give you just that right push to help you move to the next level.
