3 Things You Must Break Free Of To Be Successful

Well, you see the headline is three things you must break free of to be successful. There are 3 things you must give up in order to successfully pursue your dream.  So what are those three things?

Check out the Podcast #19 on this very topic.

Perfection is Stagnation

Well, the first thing on the list is PERFECTIONISM.

If you are trying to do anything new and. Expanding your horizons you’re going to be in a learning mode. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t deliver from where you are. People too often can get stuck when they want it to be perfect.

What is perfect? What is the definition of perfect? It’s really up to individuals and it changes every second of the day. I encourage you to not seek after perfection, seek after value and. quality. What are you doing that is of value to you and to other people?

Do it Now, Not Later

The second thing that you break free from is PROCRASTINATION.

And I spoke to someone about this today and she made a comment that procrastination and perfectionism are partners. There may be two sides of the same coin. Sometimes in our search for perfection, we put off doing what we need to do. Thinking that if we do it, it won’t be perfect. So we’ll just wait until we have the time or until we know everything because it has to be right. It has to be perfect.

You can’t do that in order to pursue your dream. You’ve got to put the work in today. Now what that work needs to look like is going to vary.

We all have other pieces to our lives. I’m a full-time mom of two very active boys. I am also a full-time employee, a manager with 20 plus people. I am an active member of my sorority. I have a lot of other things that I’m involved in but I commit every day to do something for The Ms. Nena B. Show because this is my dream. I want to see it grow. I would love to get to a point where this is my full-time job. I love inspiring people to be great.

You Decide.

The third thing you must break free of is ASKING PERMISSION OF OTHER PEOPLE.

If you are waiting for permission from other people in your lives to allow you to move forward with your dream. You’re kidding yourself. No one is going to know your dream like you. No one is going to be excited about it as much as you.

Other people are not going to be as passionate about your dream. Other people don’t know all the background, all the experiences that you’ve had to bring you to this point in order for you to want to move forward in your dream. So please don’t sit around waiting for other people to say yes. Say Yes to Yourself.

Now is your time….. Now don’t get me wrong.

You can and will find people who will support you. I encourage you to find a community of people who are at the same place in their lives who are also pushing forward and are excited about supporting other people.

Listen to my podcast on Dream Killers. Sometimes the dream killers are the people that are closest to you, your spouse, your significant other, your kids, your parents. It could be any of those and they’re probably not intentionally trying to hold you back. But they don’t see the vision that you do. So please don’t sit around waiting for permission from them for you to do something regarding your dream. Push forward.

If you are trying to break free of these three things. You are not alone. We all struggle with them. Sometimes we break free at one point and they catch us again at another point. It’s a constant process. Be mindful of them. Don’t get sabotaged by them.

Perfectionism, Procrastination or Asking Permission. Put them in their proper place.  Move forward. Put in the work. Push forward for your dream.
You can do it.
